Today (May 27th 2011) is the 100th birthday of Vincent Price! So I decided to draw 100 Vincents! On Sticky notes! This piece showcases many of his greatest (and not so great) roles, performances, and appearances. It was a little tough trying to find 100 roles of his, so I had to really dig deep, but I still couldn't get exactly 100, so I had to resort to a few doubles and also a series of his different costumes from his personal horror favorite "Theater of Blood". I know a lot of these aren't really the best drawings but I feel that the whole piece together is what will look good.

The first Price movie I ever saw was "The Great Mouse Detective" (said to have been his favorite role) but of course being a little kid I didn't care who did the voice. I was in middle school when I saw "The Raven" on AMC when they used to play classic horror movies on Friday nights. My dad told me about him and I eventually recognized his voice and linked it to Ratigan. I was very amazed that such an actor who was mostly known for his horror roles would step out of that and do light and funny roles too…and succeed at it! Thats my favorite thing about Vincent, always mixing horror and comedy.

For the past week in his home town of St. Louis, Missouri, they've been having a festival in his honor called Vincentennial. I really wanted to go but there was no way, but it feels good to atleast do artwork in his honor.

Thank you for bringing us such great fright, laughs and all around joy from your films and warm, charismatic personality. Happy Birthday, Vincent. You're a great inspiration to me and it would have been a life long dream for me to meet you. But I hope that if there is an afterlife that I can meet you there. Goodbye so soon and rest in peace.

PS: Sorry for my bad hand writing, I'll be sure to post up a list of all the films I drew here :<

100 Years of Vincent Price by ~SeizureDemon
While this is a homage to Vincent Price the actor, it is also a tribute to all the characters, movies and TV shows he appeared in. As the suggester says: "May 27 was the 100th birthday of Vincent Price, an actor well-known to horror buffs as an icon of the genre, but also a patron of the arts, a gourmand and an amazing storyteller. This piece is a lively and skillful tribute to a creative life well-lived, and hundreds of memorable characters well-played." ( Suggested by `Memnalar and Featured by ^KasumiCR )

Great idea and very nice drawings!
It's interesting you couldn't find any more of his performances, because I noticed you're lacking at least four, and that's just skim-reading (from memory, no references). The ones I found are:
1. Victoria Regina - his first big theatre performance where he played Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband. Unexpectedly, his performance was well received...
2. The Eve of St. Mark - this is a (anti)war film set during WW1. I think it's worth noting that Vincent spoke very highly of it.
3. Keys of the Kingdom - he played a priest who became a bishop. This is probably his only clergy role.
4. Dr Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs - the infamous sequel to the other Goldfoot film. Probably one of his crappiest roles. But I guess one could also consider it a "clergy" role :D
Maybe you could make an updated version? I'm sure I could find a couple more performances if you're interested.

Are either of these images of Vincent when he did "The Last Man on Earth"?

I never knew Vincent played Irontail from "Peter Cottontail". He does a rather devious, sly, and nasty Rattigan, though. Hehheh

This weekend I saw Edward Scissorhands on TV, (well HBO), and, personally, I prefer Vincent Price around the time he did "The Last Man on Earth" because, in my opinion, his voice at that time was more of a dark, Edgar Allan Poe-like horror style, while his voice for "E S" or "Great Mouse Detective", while still good for terror at least, fit more of the creepy/psycho/insane type of horror. Like, a Cheshire Cat smile-like horror.
